No one can predict the future, but one can be sure that the future of batik will be as bright as its colours. Many designers are now focusing on batik and making batik as their main fashion wear. New young designers are also learning batik.
We had an opportunity to meet up with Emilia Tan who has a modern interpretation of batik. Her designs comprise a mixture of aboriginal art styles and batik. Emilia's range of batik will be ready in the coming months, and she hopes to have her e-boutique to reach every corner of the world.
With such passion and motivation by the designers, we are certain to see batik in the fashion limelight. And we can be sure to receive an even wider spread of batik inspiration in the near future……
