The 6 weeks I spent working with Emilia has given me priceless experiences which I will carry with me my whole life. She has taught me so much about the art of batik, right from the initial starting points to the end result. Emilia has also encouraged me to push the boundaries of art and textiles and to explore the diversity of foreign cultures.

 As textiles and fashion is something I would like to pursue further in university, I have found this to be an extremely useful experience: Emilia has really inspired me and has opened my eyes to the world of batik, art, fashion and textiles. She has given me an insight into the world of art and design, showing me both the positive and negative aspects of the design field.

During this project, I have also managed to forge a close friendship with Emilia and I sincerely hope to keep in contact with her in the future as I believe her guidance and insight would be very helpful to me.

 The techniques and skills I acquired whilst working with Emilia have been invaluable to my artistic development and my understanding of textiles.
